FO Appreciation
I keep missing all the prompts for WIP Wednesday and FO Friday. So, today to kick-start my blogging I am posting a sweet picture of a cardigan that I made for my best friends little boy (he’s a not so little 3 years old now) and now it has been passed on to his little sister.
Looks adorable doesn’t she?
And this is her brother wearing the cardigan when he was younger.
FO: Birthday Cardigan for Tom
Here’s a cardigan I knitted for Luke’s good friend Tom for his first birthday back in April. It’s one of the new patterns from DROPS and I really loved knitting it up.
It did take a little longer than I wanted it to as the pattern called for moss stitch on the entire jacket. But even though it did actually take a little longer I love the end result. The moss stitch looks really good and gives the cardigan a nice character.
And Luke also seems to approve. He was too keen to be involved in the photo shoot when I was taking the pictures.
The added pockets can’t really be used as pockets, but they just add that little bit extra and make the cardigan look a little bit like a grandfather cardigan.
I originally wanted to pick a brighter colour, but then decided on this lovely denim blue. And I managed to find the nice blue buttons in my stash. All in all I’m really happy with the end result and my best friend Kerstin and handsome Tom are too.

WIP Wednesday
I’ve got two projects to show you today. One of them is a mystery Christmas one, and its the second time I’m doing cables, I love them! I’m quite pleased I decided to knit this project as I’m finally using a ball of black wool…I don’t normally have any use for black wool. I just can’t make black baby clothes.
The second project is a bigger pair of my booties for my best friend Kerstin’s little boy Tom. She’s ordered them from me, so I need to get a move on and finish them.
FO: Booties (Baby Tom Wearing Them)
Another set of my baby booties, this time for my best friends baby Tom (by the way he’s not a tiny baby anymore, he’s 2 months younger than Luke, so currently he’s 7 months old).
These are my go-to booties when I need something really quick to knit. I can normally whip them up in an evening and I can use any of my leftover stash, which is very handy!
I also like the fact that any yarn thickness and any colour combination works for them, it makes them very enjoyable to knit.
And, as promised, here’s a picture of little Tom wearing them. I believe he’s just a day or a couple of days old and in the arms of his Papa, isn’t he adorable (the baby, not the Dad :-)).
