Taking Stock: March 2021

Making: a new crochet doll for a new baby girl.

Cooking: a friend is making pumpkin risotto!
Drinking: hibiscus tea, which is meant to help lower blood pressure. It also tastes great.
Reading: The 100th issue of Frankie.

Wanting: to update my Ravelry projects, so I can hit that magic 1,000 project mark (I have made many more…)
Playing: with the latest Kiwi Co box that arrived today.

Liking: the cooler mornings. Autumn is here.
Deciding: on what to pack for a short trip over the Easter weekend.
Wishing: everyone safe!
Enjoying: yesterday’s trip to the Southern Highlands and that I was able to wear my Slipstravaganza Shawl.

Wondering: why post my mum sent to the boys for their birthdays back in February and March is taking so long.
Loving: the Eggstravaganza (Easter hat parade) at school this morning.

Pondering: what activities to plan for the holidays.
Considering: whether to break my ‘yarn buying’ hiatus on Monday when we go to visit Blackwattle Yarn for an Alpaca tour. Does anybody want to comission something?
Buying: nothing!!!
Watching: still Outlander.
Hoping: for good weather while we are in Canberra.
Marvelling: at the beautiful country we live in!

Cringing: at nothing…
Needing: a new crochet hook after over 30 years!

Smelling: beautiful essential oils at a workshop with my gorgeous friend.

Taking Stock: February 2021

Making: the Bernie Sanders from Tobey King.

Cooking: I have really enjoyed smoothies last month, probably because I had the post for a dental implant put in, so could only eat soft stuff for a little while.
Drinking: Gorgeous Slow Wine Co Pinot Noir.
Reading: Excellence Wins by Horst Schulze, very interesting read!

Wanting: really badly to see my brother and his family, and my mum!
Playing: with yarn!
Liking: that my knee is starting to feel much better, thanks in part to my fantastic physio!
Deciding: on new projects (crochet and knitting) for next month!
Wishing: see Wanting further up!
Enjoying: A wonderful painting class with my girlfriends today (their birthday present to me).

Wondering: what next month will bring!
Loving: all the love I received for my 40th birthday last month!

Pondering: when I get to hike again….

I love KnitPicks yarn, I used their gorgeous white and rainbow sockyarn to make my youngest a jumper last year. I also love that they have updated their learning center, go KnitPicks!

Taking Stock: April

Making: The Arlo by Michelle Wang for Brooklyn Tweed for my eldest’s best friend, at the beach!

Cooking (aka dyeing): Easter eggs in true German tradition. What are your Easter traditions?

Drinking: Rooibos tea again….after a fairly long time…and it’s delicious!
Reading: Making Stories Magazine and I want to knit every single item.

Wanting: to have more time…to do what I love to do!
Playing: silly faces with my youngest in the morning.

Liking: culling things before our move into our own home!
Deciding: and trying to convince my other half what we need to buy after we move…new mattress, new TV, things for the garden…the list goes on.
Wishing: I had more time!
Enjoying: My eldest’s first and last camp as a Joey before he moves up to Cubs in Scouts.

Wondering: what will pop up next at work…it’s been pretty full on!
Loving: the bond these two are developing in the last month!

Pondering: what to knit for myself next!
Considering: whether to have another glass of wine.
Buying: yarn….so much yarn!!!

Watching: all the Marvel movies in the order they were released….it’s fascinating and my husband thinks I should move onto Star Wars next or Harry Potter… I have yet to be convinced!
Hoping: my eldest feels better in the morning!
Marvelling: at everything Tanis Fiber Arts comes out with.
Cringing: at the mess that inevitably goes with packing up a house.
Needing: new trousers…because Winter is coming!
Questioning: nothing!

Smelling: the most amazing flowers I received from my friend.

Wearing: nothing special.
Following: through on things I promised to do.
Knowing: that I will love tomorrow’s bush playgroup with the littlies.
Thinking: about my best friend in Scotland…missing her loads.
Admiring: the ‘shelter’ the kids built during the school holidays at the workshop put on by the Mount Annan Botanical Gardens.

Bookmarking: nothing in particular.
Coveting: yarn…always and forever more yarn!
Disliking: all the things I have to do before we move.
Opening: yarn from Wren & Ollie.

Feeling: tired…and I really should get to bed.
Snacking: earlier in the day on Strawberries.
Helping: others by giving away two guitars I was gifted.
Hearing: the diswasher downstairs.
Mixing: yarns.
Splicing: spit splicing….my new favourite way of joining yarn.
Celebrating: from afar my mum’s 70th birthday!
Forgetting: to bring back books to the library!
Winning: because he finally let the dentist check his teeth!
