Another one from the archives, this time with my sweet little boy in it. I had this pattern from Drops Design on my list for a while before I decided to make it for Max for his first Winter when we still lived in England.
It’s a beautiful pattern, with ribbing all over, making it very stretchy. The front eyelets add a wonderful detail to it, and its buttoned in the crotch, making nappy changes easy. It’s not the best looking piece if it isn’t being worn, but it is just so practical.
I used DROPS Baby Merino yarn, which is really soft on the skin and it can actually be washed on a gentle machine wash…a win-win for a baby knit. My only mistake was making it the size that Max should have worn at that age, but he was such a big boy he wasn’t able to wear it for very long. Still worth it though!
