FO: Knitted Flowers Last Forever

Knitted flowers are such a pleasure to make. A couple of years ago I made a bunch of them for a good friend’s daugher and made it into a beautiful flower crown.

These are mainly from this beautiful book: 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet by Lesley Stanfield. It’s a treasure trove for many different flowers and even some vegetables, I highly recommend it.

Some of the flowers I had knitted in previous years, so really, all I needed to do was make the crown, which I did by knitting up a tube and threading a wide elastic band through it. And then sewing the flowers onto that crown.

Before I posted this beauty off to my friends daugther I had to take some pictures of me wearing it. It made me so happy.

Doesn’t it make your heart sing? My friend was kind enough to send me some pictures of her daughter, who is a genius with make up, check her out!

FO: Baby Boy all in Green

This little ensemble was made for a friend, who had her third boy earlier this year. She briefly worked with me last year and she’s a fellow German expat living in Australia. I knew straight away what I wanted to make for her when she told me she was expecting.

These were patterns that had been in my Ravelry queue for a little while. The only one I had made before was Little Brother’s Romper by Petite Knit.

It’s a great knit, as it calls for Aran weight yarn, and I had some wonderful in my stash that I was able to use for it. It’s a wonderfully quick and very straightforward knit, a credit to designer Mette Wendelboe Okkels, the face behind Petite Knit.

The second item was the sweet Waldzipf beanie by Ducathi. A simple, yet beautiful little hat that also knits up really quickly.

And finally a pair of Johannes Booties by Sophie Noix. Such a beautiful pattern, really well thought out and a joy to make.

I had some DROPS Baby Merino left in my stash that I was able to use for these. Now, the absolute best thing about making baby clothes and gifting them, is receiving pictures that I am allowed to share. I mean…..
