FO: Arlo Cardigan

This one is a gem. I have made this cardigan a few times already, but I love when the intricate pattern is coupled with a sophisticated grey. It just looks smart!

It’s a pretty genius pattern by Michele Wang for Brooklyn Tweed. Not only does it call for tubular cast ons to make the hem and the sleeves look very polished, those cables are to die for!

Pretty special this construction, don’t you think? I love collection the team at Brooklyn Tweed comes out with, they always have that special something!

And you know what makes me even happier? A warm and happy recipient!

Finished Object: Turtle

Simple and straightforward, this little turtle is a joy to make. In fact this little guy is my second one. I made this for one of my eldest sons school friends back in 2019.

I love the roundness of amigurumi and I always stuff them good. They need to be firm and not too flimsy!

I had made a version of this for a good friend and she loved him. When everyone else saw the little dude, they wanted one also! I call that a great success!

And whenver I am making an amigirumi toy/animal, I have soooo much fun! Makes me smile.

4/40: Thirroul Beach

This is by no means a ‘new-to-me’ beach, but the first time I am mentioning it on here!

We are lucky to be able to visit this beach whenever we want as my mother-in-law moved to Thirroul about 9 months ago. We are so glad she did, it’s absolute heaven! It was a little bit windy yesterday, but that didn’t stop us!

Along this stretch of the coast there are many, many beautiful beaches that we haven’t visited yet, so be prepared for some more soon!

My crazy two boys, despite a cool temperature of 19 degrees, and a very windy day, put on their wetsuits and still went in the creek. The waves were a little too high and too intimidating, even for my eldest.

I managed to do a little bit of knitting while I was there, but it was just too windy to be enjoyable…so I just enjoyed the sun instead!

My favourite part though of visiting this beach was that we could show it to our friend who has been visiting from Byron! So much fun!

Lunching with favourite boys and grandma, wind and sand included!
