Back in April 2013 a friend of mine who has a gorgeous little girl ordered a cardigan from me. At her baby shower a couple of years earlier I had given her a voucher to knit something she wanted me to knit for her daughter.
She picked this gorgeous little jacket pattern, a DROPS pattern of course.
My friend picked this gorgeous peachy colour, which is so sweet and soft, it would look gorgeous on any little girl.
The pattern called for DROPS Baby Alpaca Silk, the most gorgeous Alpaca and Mulberry silk combination, very soft and lovely to knit with.
For the flounce at the bottom of the cardigan I had to cast on an insane number of stitches and it was slow going at first, as I used 2.5mm needles.
But once I got past the flounce and up to the stockinette stitch and then the double moss stitch it was pretty fast going.
I used some little heart buttons that I had in my stash, which add another sweet detail.
And this was well received by my friend, and her daughter put it straight on when she got it!
This is such a pretty little cardigan. Love it! Great idea too, to give a voucher and then the recipient can choose their design. Ros
Oh so sweet!
I love the feminine details, but the neutral color you chose keeps it from screaming, “I’m girly!!!!!”
