Black and White Wedding Flowers

Our cousin (my husband’s cousin) got married back in December to the beautiful mother of his gorgeous daughter…they kept the wedding pretty low key, but I knew I wanted to make something for the bride and after getting a brief from her: ‘black and white’ I went ahead and knitted up something for her, for the groom and for their gorgeous girl.

So I got my DROPS Muscat out in black and white and knit up two white hollyhooks, one white rose and five small daisy like flowers in black and white.

Out of one I fashioned a bracelet for the bride.

I love the end result, and I think it worked out really well, it was quite compact and not the lightest bracelet, but it looks wonderful on my gorgeous friend. She asked me to put it on her as she was walking down the aisle…so I was part of the ceremony.

I made up two little hairclips for their daughter, matching one of the small flowers in the bracelet.

And doesn’t she look just gorgeous in it?

Finally, I made our cousin a boutonnière (I have to Google that word every time I need to write it out). Again, the flowers are matching the bracelet.

I was also asked to put this on for our cousin…as he danced his way to his bride.

I am really pleased to have been included in their celebrations to have been able to make something unique for them. Something they can treasure forever, since knitted flowers last forever.

And look at this beautiful family…don’t they look ecstatically happy?
