FO: My Boy in a Sweet Romper

When Max was born I knew there were a few things I wanted to knit for him. One was the Pocket Playsuit by C. Pettersen who is behind Ministrikk. It’s such a sweet pattern.

I used some DROPS Baby Merino that I had left in my stash, luckily I had enough to finish the little suit. Because I wanted to knit up stripes I had to improvise a little bit for the pockets and for top just before getting to the straps.

But I think it adds to the finished piece. I doubled the straps as I wanted to make sure that they would hold and be strong.

Since Max was only four months old when I was knitting this, it took me a little longer than it usually would, but I am very pleased with the end result.

And doesn’t Max look gorgeous in it?

FO: Sunny Popcorn Romper

On this dreary, grey day I thought I’d share a lovely sunny yellow romper with you that I knitted in January this year for a friend who had a baby girl (her second daughter).

This is another great Paelas Paelas pattern, three women, based out of Norway, who design beautiful classic baby clothes with a vintage feel.

I have knitted a few of their patterns in the last few months and even though the translations are often quite rough I do love the end result.  I knitted one of their rompers for Max and another for a friend’s daughter.

The popcorn or bobbles on this little romper are very sweet and there is a bit of a theme emerging with some orders I have knitted and some that I am just about to start. It’s actually a really simple way of adding some texture to a garment, providing a great look.

The buttons are from my stash, originally from TextileGarden I am sure.

MR 14 MR 19

The back construction is pretty cool, as it has an added elastic band at the waist. I am sure this makes it a great fit as there won’t be any gaping holes.

I am not sure why yellow is so hard to photograph and looks so different in some of the pictures, but it’s a lovely sunny yellow.

FO: My Max in his Romper

My beautiful Max turned one year old today! I just cannot believe this year has passed by so quickly! In honour of his big day I’d like to share a little romper I knit for him in June.

I used this lovely Kjappstrikka Drakt: Quick Knit Suit pattern from Paelas Paelas. The pattern is great, just not very well translated. But as I’m an experienced knitter it wasn’t a huge problem for me. The pattern calls for Merino yarn, but I decided to pick some DROPS Muskat for it as Max was going to be wearing it during the Summer months.

I loved the end result so much I almost want to make it again, and I did put Max in it a lot while it fit him. But just judge for yourselves, be warned: picture and cuteness overload!

Isn’t he adorable in his little romper?

And here he and Luke are together…aren’t they sweet? They make my heart sing!!!
