Here’s another Aviatrix for charity that I knitted back in December 2011. This is the newborn size.
I still love this pattern, really do. It’s a really well written pattern that gives loads of different options for sizes and different yarn thickness. Absolutely great.
Here’s another Aviatrix I knitted up while I was in Australia.
I want to say again how I really LOVE this pattern, it’s such a great write up, and it can be found here.
And look at this gorgeous little girl wearing her new hat:
You might remember this is gorgeous Sofia, who received one of the green hoodies I knitted…but doesn’t she look gorgeous.
I knitted this hat when we were in Australia in November, and it was knitted for a charity market that a friend of mine was organising in Belfast. It’s such a great pattern, which is available on Ravelry.
The pattern actually looks quite complicated, but is very easy to knit. It also gives you the option to knit with different yarn weights, absolutely great. I was able to use some yarn from my stash, and love the colour choice.
I made a little label to attach to the hat and my business card before I sent it to my friend, see below. I’m not sure whether it actually sold, but I’m sure it looked good on the stand!
As it’s getting much colder here I thought I’d knit Luke another little hat. And again, I seemed to grab some left over green yarn and decided to knit the Aviatrix hat that’s available on Ravelry.
I really like the pattern, although when I initially looked at it I was really worried that it would be really complicatet. However, it’s really well written and the instructions are straightforward to follow.
I knitted the size for 12 months, but I think I picked the wrong yarn, as it’s quite snug on Luke. I’ve got some red yarn set aside to knit another one when we come back from Australia. Oh yes, by the way, we’re going to Australia in just a little over a week :-).
