Last years orders from milliemanu also included some beanies. I knitted 12 of them, 7 pink ones and 5 blue ones. This was a nice and quick knit with DROPS Karisma, and without further ado I’m just going to post the pictures.
You’ll be seeing a lot of items I’ve made for milliemanu over the next few days. And I even did some sewing for her last year. She sent me a sample and I made two bunnies for her. I won’t talk about these much, but will just let the pictures do the talking.
Here’s cardigan I knitted back in June last year as a sample for the owner and founder of milliemanu. She’s the one I’ve been knitting all the vests (and more) and lots of boleros for, I’ll be posting about them all in the next few days.
It’s this DROPS pattern, which I have knitted before a few times. Although this is the first time I added the little velvet trim. It’s just a plain garter stitch, but the little details like the crochet border and some nice buttons do add a little nice touch.
I do love the colour, and I am amazed that almost every time I’ve knitted this cardigan the request has been for this colour.
And this cardigan was for milliemanu’s daughter, which I am sure she was pleased with.
Earlier this year I finally sat down to knit something for myself. I know I’ve hinted at it with some pictures on Instagram. I’ve been waiting to post about as I wanted to include some pictures of me wearing the cardigan, but I just haven’t managed, so this will be a post just about the cardigan. Maybe another day I’ll manage to post one with me in it. Or maybe we’ll have to wait a few months (more on that later ;-).
I used this DROPS pattern, although I amended the way the cables worked. Rather than them going under the same way, I made sure that they went under and then over to give the entire cardigan a better look.
I love the colour I picked, and it fits with a few of my Summer dresses and skirts.
The fact that the cardigan has this lacy feel to it, but at the same time is quite solid and warm makes me really pleased that I picked this exact pattern. I read up on the notes before I started and it sounded like people weren’t too happy with how theirs turned out. But I am over the moon with how mine turned out.
I had some matching buttons in my stash, but after washing the cardigan once the colour has come off a little bit. However, I don’t think that’s a problem, it just makes it look a little more ‘shabby-chic’.
I love the cardigan, and I can’t wait to knit something else for myself. I just need to get through my endless queue first.
An ex-colleague of mine is due to have a baby any day now and when I found out I did my usual thing and knitted up some booties. I feel like I don’t really need to explain that much about these booties anymore, as I knit them so often and post about them so often that everyone pretty much knows about them. So without further ado here are a couple more pictures.
