FO: Another Pair of Booties

I do hope you’re not getting bored of my booties yet, I’ve got another pair that I knitted back in September 2010. And there are more still to come, don’t worry! This is my bootie pattern that can be found on Ravelry. As I’ve already said a few times, I love knitting these booties (it probably has something to do with the fact that I’ve knitted hundreds and hundreds of them).

I made this pair for a friend from school, I had spoken to him in the summer about a reunion I was organising and he mentioned that he and his wife were expecting. He told me they were having a boy, hence the colour choice, and I really like the combination.

The white cuff finishes the booties off so nicely. I’ve not seen a picture of the baby wearing the booties and not sure if my friend liked them, but I’m sure he did.

FO: Flowery Quilt

I just found these pictures of a flower baby quilt that I made probably over 5 years ago. In fact it was so long ago that I can’t even remember who I made it for. What I do remember is that I had these really cute squares of different flowery fabric, and each square had a different pattern on it.

I can’t remember many more details of this particular quilt, but I remember it being really easy to make, I just used squares and sewed them together. I had a back piece, put wadding in the middle and then added a pink border.

WIP Wednesday

It’s just a very short post from me today to show you the cardigan that I’m still working on. I’ve actually done the back and the right side and just need to finish off the left side and do the border. So not too much, but it’s taking longer than expected.

FO: Cotton Baby Socks

I knitted this pair of baby socks for my friend’s little girl, Marianne, in Singapore. And because it’s always warm in Singapore (hot and humid in fact) I decided to go with cotton yarn. I had some nice Drops Safran left over, which conveniently was in the colours that Marianne’s mum was decorating the nursery with: white and yellow.

I went with my own gut instict regarding the pattern (it’s pretty straightforward after all) and just cast on 44 stitches initially. I think the yellow accents give the socks a really nice, chic edge.

And here’s the collection of items I knitted for Marianne, I’ve previously blogged about them here and here.

FO: Aviatrix (for Charity)

I knitted this hat when we were in Australia in November, and it was knitted for a charity market that a friend of mine was organising in Belfast. It’s such a great pattern, which is available on Ravelry.

The pattern actually looks quite complicated, but is very easy to knit. It also gives you the option to knit with different yarn weights, absolutely great. I was able to use some yarn from my stash, and love the colour choice.

I made a little label to attach to the hat and my business card before I sent it to my friend, see below. I’m not sure whether it actually sold, but I’m sure it looked good on the stand!
